Sparta couldn’t reach any points even in the second clash with a Europa League contender. This time they lost 0-1 in Liberec.
Zdeněk Ščasný decided for a 3-5-2 and could include Martin Frýdek in his line-up, as the midfielder fully recovered from a muscle injury. Ladislav Krejčí was missing on the left wing and was replaced by Matěj Hybš.
Sparta managed to create more goal chances in the first half, while Rabušic was the only one to hit the target on the other side, but David Bičík did not have too much work. The home goalkeeper Hrubý was much busier and had to make a couple of brilliant saves on shots by Hybš and Mareček. Lafata’s sharp shot went just over the bar.
The opener came after 64 minutes of play, when Delarge hit a cross from the left with a nice volley and gave Bičík no chance.
Sparta put all their effort to offense, but could not score the equaliser. Dočkal fired wide and Fatai’s breakaway was well saved by Hladký.
