We are pleased to announce former Czechoslovakia and Czech international footballer Pavel Hapal was named new head coach of AC Sparta Prague.
Pavel Hapal was born on July 27th, 1969 in Kroměříž.
During his playing career, he played for SK Sigma Olomouc, FK Dukla Prague, Bayer 04 Leverkusen, CD Tenerife but he also played a half a year for Sparta Prague back in 2000.
He ended his playing career in June 2002 and almost immediately began his coaching career.
Pavel Hapal was a head coach of SFC Opava, FK Mladá Boleslav, FC Nitra or MŠK Žilina and he also was a coach of Zaglebie Lubin.
He won the Slovakian top division with MŠK Žilina and they also participated in the Champions League Group Stage where they played against Chelsea FC, Olympique Marseille and FC Spartak Moscow.
Pavel Hapal was a head coach of Slovakia Under 21s team since 2015 and thanks to great results they participated at EURO 2017 in Poland and they finished second in the group stage.
His son Ondřej is a member of Sparta Prague Under 17s squad.
Pavel Hapal will lead the training session for the first time on Tuesday at 15:00 CET.
