“I am very happy that my journey with Sparta continues. I am satisfied with what we have achieved and I also see challenges for the future. I enjoy working here every day with coaches, players, medical and performance team. We will be working closely with coaches of the First Team and will also provide the B-team and Academy with the best service,“ said Clarup on signing of the new contract.
Clarup worked nine year in the same role for the Danish side Midjtylland. In the summer of 2022, he has become Sparta’s head of performance. Since then, we have won two league titles, one domestic cup and after 19 long years, we are back in the Champions League. His work also secured him a job with the Danish national team during the UEFA European Championship.
