Sparta have won the 280th Prague derby. They defeated their city rival Slavia at their own stadium, with goals scored by Dočkal and Vácha, who both started their football career in Slavia’s youth academy.
Sparta’s line-up was as expected, however Slavia were surprisingly missing Mičola and Petrák due to injuries, while Nitrianský only started on the bench.
Sparta started the game off well, putting the home side under pressure and creating chances. Hušbauer failed to score twice, and Krejčí’s surprising shot from a sharp angle was saved by Slavia’s Rakovan.
On the other side, Škutka had Slavia’s biggest chance of the game, but he didn’t manage to score to the empty net and hit Costa standing in front of the goal instead.
Sparta took the lead after 61 minutes of play, when Vácha scored with a wonderful strike from a free kick. From that moment, Sparta were in control of the game.
At the end, home side’s Kisel was sent off after two yellow cards and Dočkal scored Sparta’s second to secure a huge win for the away team.
