With seven new players in the starting line-up, Sparta faced another Prague side, Dukla, in the first leg of the Czech post cup quarterfinals. However, Krejčí scored their only goal, as Sparta were defeated by the home side.
It was Sparta to create the first chance, but Juliš, who scored his first league goal on the weekend, couldn’t find the net from only a couple of meters.
On the other side, former Sparta player Mareš was more successful, opening the score with his header after a corner kick.
Dukla got into the two-goal lead early in the second half, after Hybš brought down Pospěch in the box, and the attacker scored Dukla’s second from the spot.
Ladislav Krejčí scored Sparta’s only goal with 10 minutes remaining, but his team could not find the net again.
The rematch will be played next Wednesday at the GENERALI Arena.
