Sparta played the last friendly match in Prague before the training camp in Austria. Both teams were unable to convert their opportunities and match ended with a 0-0 draw at the Strahov training ground.
Serbian defender Uroš Radaković whose transfer from SK Sigma Olomouc was confirmed during Tuesday played his first match in Sparta jersey as he played the full 90 minutes and he was a captain in the second half.
Sparta had first two chances of the match but shot by Frýdek was saved by keeper Macík and Stanciu didn’t hit the target with a volley after Plavšić’s cross.
Florin Nita was almost without work for the whole match expect distributing ball to defenders. If opponent’s players had a shooting opportunity they didn’t hit the target.
Benjamin Tetteh was in an interesting position after a half-hour of play but the ball just passed through six yard box after deflected shot and that was all in the first half.
Only four players – Nita, Radaković, Ćivić and Ristić played the full 90 minutes. The rest of the first half squad made a way for other players during break.
There were a minimum chances in the second half as Sparta were dominant on the pitch and Ružomberok wanted to take advantage thanks to counter attacks but most of them ended around half line or Costa with Radaković stopped them all.
Sparta were most dangerous after crosses from the left side of the pitch where Ćivić and Vatajelu combined well but Pulkrab, Dao twice and Mustedanagić didn’t hit the target from various interesting positions.
The match ended with a goalless draw. The team will leave Prague on Saturday morning as we head to Bad Leonfelden, Austria, for ten days of training camp.
