Coach Zdeněk Ščasný made several changes to the line-up after derby with Slavia. Drchal as the striker, Ćivić as a wing-midfielder, Chipciu and Radaković in the defence. Plavšić and Tetteh were injured and Štetina was ill.
In the fourth minute the Generali Arena was silent after the Karviná’s goal. After blocked cross to the box Wágner took care of with Costa and sent the ball to the net. Nita went for the first direction of the cross and was not able to react to the shot.
Sparta held the ball much more but was not danger without Kanga and Dočkal. The second punishment came in the 25th minute. Ba Loua got a beautiful ball on the right side and then sent it to Guba. The Slovakian footballer scores the second Karviná’s goal.
The Spartans had obvious problems in the middle of the pitch. Chipciu, Ćivić and Karlsson tried it in the first half but the clear chances didn’t come. It was 0-2 after the first period.
After the start of the second half Sparta could reduce the score. Drchal went alone to the goalkeeper from an angle but he hit the post. Hložek then got to the bounced ball and hit the bar. Huge bad luck ...
Instead of dramatizing the game came another collapse in our defence. Florin Nita did not keep the shot from a distance and Tomáš Wágner scored the third Karviná’s goal from the third chance.
Sparta had another chance in the 71st minute when Zahustel came in from the right but Pastornický managed to get the ball of the goal.
After one minute a long ball came to the box. Hložek passed it in front of the empty goal but Costa nor Drchal didn’t score.
The Spartan offensive comeback to the match but it was too late and we still had bad luck. Hašek crossed to Hložek, he sent the ball to Drchal. He then returned the ball Hložek which tried to shot, but the attempt was blocked by Krivák.
Another chance for Drchal. He went to the Karviná goal from the angle, wanted to chip the goalkeeper, but he also chipped the target.
Spartans scored at the end of the match. Martin Hašek hit the corner of the goal by beautiful shot in the 89th minute after a short corner.
