"Brian gave Sparta two wonderful years during which we were truly successful. We won three trophies, and in the second season, we also made a successful appearance in Europe. We've experienced a period that enriched us all, strengthened us, and brought a lot of joy," concludes the club's sporting director, Tomáš Rosický, marking the end of Brian Priske's era at the club.
"We had a clear idea of how to act in this situation because we had already perceived interest in Brian in the past. The key is continuity in our clearly established system, both in maintaining the standards of daily work of all components of the first team and in further building on clear game principles," adds Rosický.
Summer 2022. A new coach arrives at Letná. The difficulty of the task became evident right at the beginning of his Prague tenure, as he and his team had to endure elimination in the Conference League preliminary round, a series of five draws, and a defeat in the derby.
The season, which many experts already deemed lost, began to turn for the better. Victories in Plzeň and a big win over Slovácko were the signs indicating that the spring could be successful. Before the start of the spring season, the team was also reinforced by Lars Friis, who took charge of the offensive play.
With the start of 2023, an undefeated league streak commenced, which only ended in the last round of the finals. However, this was of little concern, as the championship coronation of Sparta was on the schedule after the final whistle. Under the leadership of Brian Priske, the Spartans brought the title back to Letná after nine years.
In his second season, the Danish strategist led the Spartans successfully on three fronts. We still vividly remember the great victories in Europe, including the heroic comeback against Dinamo Zagreb and the amazing battles with Betis Sevilla and Galatasaray Istanbul.
At the end of the 2023/2024 season, he led Sparta to defend the title after a long twenty-three years, his players also dominated the MOL Cup, achieving the renowned double and forever etching their names in Sparta's history.
Now, Brian Priske is setting out for a new challenge.
